How Do You Explain Time?
Let's suppose there is something you cannot see or feel nor hear, so what could that be? It means such a thing does not exist. You would be surprised to hear there is something that has all the above features. Yet, it still exists. That thing is 'time'.
We see many things in front of us, such as trees, humans, or the moon. They are small, grow up and then disappear, and we feel this change. This is a transition from one point to another, which we have named 'time'. The clock needles are just telling us where the sun is now and when you will see it tomorrow morning. And so on, evening and night, we have divided 'time' into the year, month, day, hour, minute, and second.
What Is One Second?
The Earth travels a little distance around the sun. The sun moves slightly around the galaxy, emitting light from around 3 × 10⁸ km.
Everything needs a starting point, just as Big Bang was called the beginning of time. Different standards of measuring the time were adopted. In which the sun's rotation around the Earth was called a new year, 24 parts of the day were made that were connected to the axial rotation of the Earth, and 365 days in a year decided because the sun revolves around its axis 365 times completing its orbit around the Earth. Then these twenty-four sections were called hours, measured for another 60 minutes and every minute for 60 seconds. Seconds were also defined if the caesium atom completes its vibration 9 billion times. A few years ago, some people considered the longitudinal line passing through Greenwich a standard time zone; thus, different time zones came into existence.
Why We Don't Feel The 'Time'?
Einstein gave us a different idea of the time. He said we live in a 4-dimensional universe, not in the 3-dimensional universe with length, width, and height or depth, and the fourth is 'time'. We 'humans' are 3D. That is why we do not feel the time.
Time on Earth is only for the Earth and the humans living on Earth. After some experiments, it was found that time is not the same for everyone. Time is different in space and on Earth, which is slow or fast because of gravity. It makes us think 'time' exists.
To this day, we do not understand the 'time' properly. It is only in our minds. We measure it with the clocks we have. So, I'm uploading this post at 9:00 p.m. on February 29, the 366th day of this year, which comes almost every four years. It is used to keep the distance of our Earth's orbit around the sun because our Earth completes the orbit around the sun in about 365.25 days.
