Cyber experts have warned WhatsApp users not to fall prey to virus links that claim to turn WhatsApp into pink by clicking on the link, which claims to be the official update from WhatsApp. Users' phones will be hacked, and they may lose access to their WhatsApp.
This download link is circulating in WhatsApp groups, a cybersecurity expert Raja Hariya said in a post on a social media platform that "do not click on any link with the name of WhatsApp pink, otherwise your full access to the phone will be lost."
WhatsApp users are also naively sharing these harmful links, so the cyber intelligence firm has strongly advised users not to install any app other than Google or Apple's official app store.
Cyber experts say that by using the wrong app, you are actually compromising your phone, and your personal data such as photos, SMS, and contacts can be stolen.
The cybersecurity firm warns that clicking on such a link could lead to the capture of your banking password and then theft from your account.
