In Ecuador, 110-year-old husband Julio César Mora and his wife, 104-year-old Waldramina Maclovia Quinteros Reyes have been married for 79 years and the couple has been officially recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's oldest married couple in 2020.
Julio Cesar Mora was born in 1910 (March 10th), and Waldramina Quinteros was born in 1915 (October 16). Julio Cesar was born before the Royal Mail Ship Titanic sunk on 15 April 1912, and the couple both pre-date the invention of television. He also became the first validated male supercentenarian from Ecuador.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, 79 years of marital intimacy have been observed before, but the couple's total age of 214 years is unusual. The health of both of them is also enviable, so they have been declared as the oldest couple in the world.
In February 1941, Julio Mora, 31, married Waldermina Cuteros, 25, against the wishes of her family. The couple's four children are still alive, they have 11 children and 11 of them have 21 children and all live together.
They have enjoyed countless delightful moments together, and facing difficulties and challenges, like any married partner. Though, the affection, respect, and love they have for each other have achieved them the title of the oldest married couple 2020, with an aggregate age of 214 years and 358 days.
The elderly couple has been separated from their children since March this year because of the corona epidemic. The Guinness Book of World Records certified the couple as the oldest couple this month. Earlier, the award was given to an American couple with a total age of 212 years.
