Does COVID-19 Vaccine Affect Male Sperm?

A new medical study has found that the Pfizer / Bio-N Tech Covid-19 vaccine does not harm male sperm.

During a study in Israel, sperm samples from 43 men were collected before the vaccine and one month after use.

The study found that after the vaccine, there was no significant change in sperm count, accumulation, and other functions.

The results have not yet been published in any medical journal but in the online preprint server medRxiv.

The researchers said that preliminary results have reassured young men that the vaccine does no harm.

"Couples who want to become parents should use the vaccine without hesitation because vaccination does not affect sperm," he said.

Earlier, research reports suggested that coronavirus infection could harm sperm function.

A study in April 2021 stated that the Covid-19 vaccine does not cause infertility in women.

The study included 32 women who were divided into 3 groups, one using a vaccine, another who recovered from COVID-19, and a third who had neither been exposed to nor used the vaccine.

During the study, samples of women were collected to see how their ability to have children was affected.

The study found that women with the Coronavirus did not show any change in their abilities.

"We are delighted that the vaccine does not cause any problems for women, while it produces antibodies that work against the virus," the researchers said.

"We tracked these antibodies and discovered them in the blood and fluids of each patient, which is important because it provides protection," they said.

"Many people are afraid of the Covid vaccine because they think it could lead to infertility in women," they said.

The researchers said this was a preliminary study involving very few women but were happy to present the results as it would help allay people's fears.
