What Happens To The Body & The Brain When You Take Drugs?

What causes a person to become addicted to drugs? What happens to the body and brain after drug use?

Before starting the topic, I will try to explain a simple and best example, but converting real effects (feelings) into words is difficult. Drug addiction is terrible for the body. Although it can give you temporary relief but many important things you lose.

taking drugs is bad for you

A reward system in our brain gives us a gift for good deeds. For example, if we eat ice cream or any other favorite dish, the brain tells us it is delicious as a reward. We enjoy, feel good, and are happy. The brain does this, so we do more such types of activities next time. Every deed, whether it is food, romance, or se*, the brain makes you feel good and relaxed as a reward (gift). This process of relaxation is in our brains. Nerve cells produce a special neurotransmitter called dopamine when you eat (for example) a sweet (favorite one).

what is dopamine

Dopamine is a fantastic substance; when it produces in the brain, you feel good whether or not you eat sweet. For example, dopamine releases when you meet or see a person if you like him/her. Because of this release, you feel so good to see your loved ones, but you don't feel so good when you see a person you don't like because dopamine doesn't produce much at that time. So it is dopamine that makes you relax, happy, and addicted.

And here comes the drugs. When a person takes a drug such as cocaine, it forces brain cells to release dopamine in double the quantity as normal. Has it ever happened to you when you see your partner with such intense feelings and do not notice your friends asking you something? Why? Because dopamine affects your normal functions. Normal body functions don't work fine; you just need to take a space and don't want to do anything.

After drug intoxication has fallen, you don't feel so good when the brain rewards you for everyday deeds/things (dopamine release because of food, romance, se* or any other) because you are addicted to a drug which causes release high quantity dopamine. So you will not like a person or food. You just need a drug, and if you do not get it, you will feel pain in your head. How much pain? Ask the people addicted to morning tea if they do not get how they feel. What they describe increases it hundreds of times more than that feeling compared to a drug-addicted person.

how drug effect a person, what cause for a drug addiction

There is still ongoing research on how it can be reversed and how drug addiction can be stopped.
