Apple Butter

Apple butter is a highly concentrated form of applesauce.

Ingredients

  1. 12 peeled, sliced, and cored apples.
  2. Four tablespoons of brown sugar.
  3. Four tablespoons granulated sugar.
  4. Two tablespoons cinnamons.
  5. One tablespoon vanilla extracts.
  6. 1/2 tablespoons ground nutmeg.
  7. 1/2 tsp. ground cloves.
  8. 1/2 tsp. kosher salt.
  9. 1/4 tsp. powdered ginger.

Method

Pull all the ingredients into a deep cooking pot and cover it. Cook on low flame till the apples change its color deeply golden and falling apart.

Blend apples continuously till it becomes smooth using a blender. Put apple butter into a bottle or jar and let it cool. You may store it in the fridge.

Apple Chips

Apple chips are delicious snacks that can be made at home easily. Also, it has vitamin C and fiber which is good for health.

Ingredients

  1. 2 sliced apples.
  2. Two tablespoons sugar.
  3. 1/2 tsp. cinnamon.

Method

Preheat the oven about 75 degrees above the temperature you want to cook. When the oven reaches that temperature, place a metal rack inside a half-sheet pan. Set apple slices on top of the rack, spacing slices so no apples overlap.

Bake for two to three hours, turn over apples halfway through till they dried out but pliant.

Ingredients

  1. 1 kilogram chopped, cored, peeled apples.
  2. 12 tablespoons water (3/4 cup).
  3. 2 tbsps. sugar (brown).
  4. 1 tsp. cinnamon powder.
  5. 1/4 tsp. koshering salt (flake salt). 

Method

Put all the aforementioned ingredients in an instant pot and mix it thoroughly. Close the instant pot cover. Cook it on high for about five minutes.

Let natural pressure release (NPR) for ten minutes and the next quick pressure release (QPR) for remaining steam. Remove the top lid, mix it.

It is a changed recipe from a fifty-year-old peach crisp recipe. It also works better with apples.

Ingredients

  1. Some peeled and cored slices of apples.
  2. Half teaspoon cinnamon powder.
  3. One cup refined flour.
  4. 1/2 cup softened butter.
  5. 8-ounce white sugar.
  6. 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Method

Preheat oven to 190 degrees C. Carefully oil an 8-inch (20.32 cm) square baking dish. Lay apple slices evenly in the baking dish. Salt, sifting flour, cinnamon, and sugar in a dish (bowl). Cutting in butter using a cooking utensil like pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse grind cornmeal; spatter over apples to decorate.

Bake in the preheated oven till the top layer of food becomes golden, 40 to 45 minutes.

German Apple Cake

German apple cake is a favorite dessert made with the main ingredient of apples.

Ingredients

  1. Some peeled cored apple slices.
  2. One tablespoon lemon water.
  3. 125-gram of softened butter.
  4. 140-grams caster sugar.
  5. Three beaten eggs.
  6. 225-gram all-purpose flour.
  7. Two tablespoons baking powder.
  8. Half tablespoon salt.
  9. Five tablespoons whole milk.
  10. 1 ½ tablespoon brown sugar.
  11. Half tablespoon cinnamon powder.

Method

Preheat the oven to 170C. Butter and line a 29 inch (3cm) round cake tin. Cover the apple wedges in the lemon water and set aside.

Beat the butter and sugar together, in a large bowl, using a portable hand mixer, till fluffy and pale. Add the eggs and stir till smooth. Sifting flour, baking powder, and salt and stir well. Gradually pour the milk, stirring well after each increase, till you have a smooth thin dough.

Covert the thin dough to the cake tin. Lay the apple slices, flat-side down, on the thin dough in a curved pattern.

Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon for topping.

Bake in the center of the oven for forty-five minutes, or till a skewer entered the middle of the cake comes out clean and the top is golden brown. Let it cool for fifteen minutes in the tin. Run a knife encompassing the sides of the cake and turn it out of the tin onto a wire rack.
